The forest reserve is managed by the National Forestry Authority which is responsible for overseeing all 506 Central Forest Reserves in Uganda in accordance with the National Forestry and Tree Planting Act 8/2003. A diverse range of creatures can find sanctuary in this grouping of habitats, which also sustains a vibrant ecology. The forest reserve is renowned for the diversity of its bird life, with 378 different species of birds recorded inside its boundaries. It is also home to a variety of primate species, including as chimpanzees, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and blue monkeys.

Tracking Monkeys
The chance to monitor monkeys is a unique feature of the Kalinzu Rainforest. The guides are adept at maneuvering through the trees and on the screams that are coming from all directions. They can thus decipher even the tiniest clues to lead you to the monkeys' home and know precisely where the monkeys are hiding. Although the likelihood of seeing chimpanzees in Kalinzu is relatively high, there is a sense of tension during the entire experience, which will subside when you eventually locate and see the primates. After spending about an hour with the monkeys, you will go. The trip lasts two to three hours and begins at 7:30 am and 3 pm.

The River-Trail
The length of this small, round woodland walk is about 2.5 kilometers. It will go by the Kajojo, often known as the Elephant River, where these creatures occasionally like taking baths. Along with some fascinating and lovely plants, you will see several indications of primates.

The Vally Trail
At 3.5 kilometers, this circular track is likewise not particularly lengthy. It will take you to a valley's summit, where you may get a fantastic view. Along the route, you will also come across several intriguing forest characteristics.

The Palm-Trail
You have the opportunity to view several unusual tree species throughout this 5-kilometer circular route. Are you familiar with dragon trees, flame trees, or raphia palms? No. So, go ahead and view them.

Waterfall-Trail
The longest route in Kalinzu is the waterfall trail, which is 11 kilometers long. You should be able to walk on it because it runs through damp and steep terrain.
