WHERE TO SEE LEOPARDS IN UGANDA.

In Uganda, you have the best chance of seeing leopards in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kidepo Valley National Park, and Lake Mburo National park. Murchison Falls National Park also offers a decent chance, though it's Uganda's largest park and might require more searching. Here's a more detailed breakdown:

  • Queen Elizabeth National Park: This park is known for its high leopard population, particularly in the Mweya Peninsula and Kasenyi Plains areas.
  • Kidepo Valley National Park: Located in northeastern Uganda, Kidepo is a remote and beautiful area with a thriving leopard population, especially in the Narus valley, according to Destination Uganda Travelers.
  • Lake Mburo National Park: This park is also a good spot for leopard sightings, particularly during night safaris.
  • Murchison Falls National Park: While it's a large park and may require more searching, Murchison Falls does have a good chance of leopard sightings.
  • Leopard in Queen Elizabeth National Park
    In Queen Elizabeth National Park there are some special spots you should look to increase the chance of seeing a leopard. One of these is called the leopard loop. You also have chance to see the beautiful cat by the adventurous channel track. Furthermore other locations to search are Kasenyi research track around the crater at Queen’s pavilion and by the old mating ground in Kasenyi. There is as well a resident leopard around Kyambura Gorge. In the Ishasha area, the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth national park, there are also good chances of sighting leopard. In Ishasha you can head for Kigezi game reserve or for Ntungwe mating ground. It is best if you go there in the morning or late evening if the aim is to see a leopard in Uganda.

    Leopard in Murchison Falls National Park
    In Murchison Falls National Park there are some locations to target for your Uganda leopard sighting. These locations are by the palms towards Tangi gate, along Buligi track in the elephant corridor and by Queen’s track through the sausage tree areas.

    Leopard in Kidepo Valley National Park
    You can as well search for leopards in Uganda in Kidepo Valley National Park. Here you head out for a gam-drive exploring the untouched wilderness. For seeing leopard in Kidepo you can target to search Buffalo track and East Kakine track.

    Leopard in Lake Mburo National Park
    In Lake Mburo National Park the leopard search should focus on Warukuri track, Zebra track and Lake side drive in the evening. There is as well a resident leopard around Mihingo Lodge and Rwakobo Rock Lodge.
