The equator is the line that divides the earth into two parts that is ; the northern and southern hemisphere. We also have the equator line in Uganda, it crosses 12 districts of Uganda and these are; kasese, ibanda, kazo, kitagwenda, bukomansimbi, sembabule, mayuge, mpigi, namayingo, butambala, kalungu, and buvuma. it also crosses some islands in lake Victoria that is lwagi and damba islands. Uganda has three major equator points which one should be a must visit for a tourist when on a Uganda safari and these are; kayabwe equator point, Queen Elizabeth national park equator point and Ssese islands equator point. These points, are always stop overs for tourists, photo shoot sites, art, gallery and craft shop centers and restaurants most especially the kayabwe and Queen Elizabeth points. When at the equator, there are many fascinating experiences and experiments observed which you never find anywhere forexample; The climate near the equator is usually hot and humid because sunrays hit the earth directly at latitude zero degrees, and the water demonstration experiment on both sides due to coriolis effect. Here, water in the northern hemisphere drains in a clockwise direction , on the south it drains anti clock wise and then right at the equator, water falls straight down without any swirling motion.
