Why you should visit Uganda

Overview

Uganda is a landlocked nation in East Africa with a varied terrain that includes the massive Lake Victoria and the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains. Chimpanzees and uncommon birds are among its many species. A well-known mountain gorilla sanctuary is the remote Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The northwest's Murchison Falls National Park is well-known for its 43-meter-tall waterfall and its hippos and other species.

Uganda offers a diverse range of animals, scenic beauty, and cultural experiences, making it an alluring travel destination. A sanctuary for adventurers and environment lovers, it is renowned for its varied landscapes, which include savannas, woods, and mountains. Visitors are also given a warm welcome and an immersed experience by the nation's lively culture and friendly people.

The following are some particular justifications for thinking about traveling to Uganda:

GORILLAS

The first time you see a gorilla in the wild in Uganda will always be a memorable experience. There are about 460 mountain gorillas in Bwindi National Park, also known as the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, which is the best location to witness endangered mountain gorillas. In contrast to their lowland counterparts, mountain gorillas are among the world's most endangered animals. To enter the national park, you will require a gorilla permit; however, this fee is covered by the price of our Uganda and Rwanda Gorilla Discovery tour.

As you climb steep hills and slog through muddy ravines in pursuit of these magnificent creatures, the suspense grows. The ranger then unexpectedly shows a family of gorillas climbing trees, scratching their heads, and nibbling bamboo shoots. As you watch these gentle giants unwind in their natural habitat, time seems to stop. It's a spiritual experience that will last a lifetime.

THE CHIMPANZEE
Explore Kibale's lush jungle in pursuit of black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and wild chimpanzees. These stealthy primates can be difficult to locate since they are buried in the dense forest. However, just as you're about to give up, a group of chimps rushes toward you in a frantic procession as you hear high-pitched screeching reverberating through the forest. These wide-eyed critters play behind a veil of emerald green leaves, unfazed by your presence, and then slowly retire back into the forest.

A RANGE OF WILDLIFE
You can witness buffalo, hyenas, and leopards in Uganda in addition to gorillas and chimps. One of the few locations in Uganda where zebras may be seen is Lake Mburo National Park, which is home to 68 different kinds of mammals. See giraffes, zebras, and even the elusive leopard when you venture into this African jungle! There is a sizable wetland area in this vast national park; keep a look out for crocodiles and hippo, and take a boat excursion to see kingfishers, fishing eagles, and white-warbled warblers.

GOOD-NATURED RESIDENTS
The people of Uganda are quite friendly and greet guests with a wave, broad smiles, and a fantastic sense of humor. Local kids are proud to share their home with gorillas that occasionally wander into the tiny village, and they look perfect in their school uniforms as they go over the sandy roads leading to Bwindi. Younger generations learn about conservation and the significance of preserving these amazing animals for future generations.

GREEN SCENERY
One could reasonably assume that a nation in Sub-Saharan Africa would be dry, arid, and golden. In Uganda, however, this couldn't be further from reality. The landscape is dominated by emerald green plantations growing bananas, tea and coffee. There are 200 distinct tree species and over 1,000 flowering plant species in Bwindi National Park, many of which are indigenous. While traveling, keep an eye out for unusual creatures, vibrant butterflies, and African green broadbills.

ADVENTURE
Uganda offers a genuine sense of off-the-beaten-path adventure since it is unspoiled and unadulterated. As you traverse the isolated and barren areas of Uganda, experience the exhilarating ride as you bounce over unpaved roads and across grassy plains, feeling like an adventurous adventurer. Families do their errands in mud-hut communities, while simple market stalls made from knotted tree branches sell a range of locally grown products.

NATURE
The never-ending vistas of undulating hills, cascading waterfalls, and cloud-filled blue skies will astound you. At Lake Mburo National Park, take in the surrounding natural beauty, which includes papyrus and acacia trees. To see more of Uganda's abundant flora and fauna, you can take a guided nature village tour around Bwindi National Park.

BEAUTIFUL WATERWAYS
The entire Ugandan landscape is covered in water; in fact, this is where the powerful River Nile originates. In this water-rich region, where lakes, waterfalls, and scenic streams are widespread, lush flora flourishes. This results in a lush and lovely landscape that helps the nation's extraordinarily varied species to survive.

PRESERVATION
You may contribute to the protection of the gorilla, one of the most endangered animals in the world, by traveling to Uganda. It may surprise you to learn that 80 percent of the proceeds from your gorilla permit, which is part of the tour fee, go toward conservation initiatives that help ensure the survival of one of our closest animals. Additionally, the economic and job opportunities that tourists provide to the region boost the local economy.

CONSCIENTIOUS TRAVEL
Your Explore trip to Uganda will benefit the rare animals as well as the local population's quality of life. One of our main principles is responsible tourism, and we support the locals by using local group leaders, guides, and drivers for our tours to Uganda. Additionally, we support the Bwindi Hospital, which specializes on HIV care.
