An Overview of the National Park of Nyungwe Forest

Located 225 kilometres from Kigali and around five hours' drive from the park's headquarters at Uwinka viewpoint, Nyungwe Forest National Park is located in the southwest of Rwanda. Thirteen monkey species, over 300 bird species, 85 animal species, over 1000 plant species, 32 amphibian species, and 38 reptilian species are among the park's remarkably diverse biodiversity. The forest is located in the Albertine Rift region, where many of the species are endemic.
