EAST AFRICAN COMBINED SAFARI

EAST AFRICAN COMBINED SAFARI

EAST AFRICAN COMBINED SAFARI

Overview

One of the greatest wildlife safaris in Africa can be found in the East African Region. A trip to this African hub includes stops in Uganda, known as the Pearl of Africa; Rwanda, known as the Land of a Thousand Hills; Kenya and Tanzania, the region's only coastal nations; the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Africa's second-largest nation; Burundi, known as the Heart of Africa; and South Sudan, also known as the Land of Kush. The only surviving mountain gorilla population, numerous national parks with a variety of wildlife, including the big five safari animals, large rainforests that serve as habitats for primates like chimpanzees and various bird species, and the largest animal migration, known as the Great Wildebeest Migration, which takes place in the Masai Mara and Serengeti National Parks, are all found in East Africa.

Savor adventures such as climbing on Africa's highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro, or other snow-capped peaks like Mount Kenya, Mount Rwenzori, or Mount Nyiragongo, the only mountain in the area with a boiling lava crater lake, or gorilla trekking in the Virunga Conservation Area. Take a boat tour on any of the many bodies of water, including the Indian Ocean, Lake Victoria, and the longest river in the world, the Nile. Discover the friendly East Africans on cultural safaris, such as the Batwa of Uganda, the Tutsi and Huntu of Rwanda, the Mundari of South Sudan, and the Masai of Kenya and Tanzania.

Trekking with gorillas in Rwanda, Congo, and Uganda.

Mgahinga National Park.
One of the most picturesque areas in the southwest of Uganda is Mgahinga National Park, which has an area of around 33.9 square kilometers. In order to save the endangered mountain gorillas that lived on the extinct volcanoes of Sabyinyo, Muhabura, and Gahinga, Mgahinga National Park was created in 1991. Mountain gorillas are followed from the dense jungles that cover the lower slopes of the mountains.

The travel from Kampala to the National Park, which is in the Kisoro area, takes only ten hours and twenty-five minutes. Only 21 of the 40 gorillas in the National Park's dense forests—known as the Nyakagezi family—are habituated and able to be monitored.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Africa's oldest tropical rainforest may be found in Bwindi, a famous UNESCO World Heritage site. There are more than 600 endangered mountain gorilla species in the forests. The National Park occupies 331 square kilometers in the modern-day districts of Kanungu, Kisoro, and Rubanda and is situated in the western arm of the East African Rift Valley. The travel from Kampala to Bwindi takes nine hours and twenty-five minutes.

With four gorilla tracking sectors and many gorilla families in each, the National Park is a veritable gorilla tracking paradise. It was established in 1991 as a result of government and international conservation organizations working together to help protect mountain gorillas that were in risk of going extinct because of poaching and other human activities.

Volcanoes National Park
Virunga National Park occupies an area of around 7769 square kilometers and is heavily wooded. It is situated in the Albertine Rift Valley in the eastern section of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Mountain gorillas may be discovered in the forests, and it's significant to remember that this is the only national park in the Congo with mountain gorillas.

The park's exceptional biodiversity also led to its inclusion as a UNESCO World Heritage site. In order to protect the mountain gorillas, who were in danger of going extinct because of the civil upheaval in the area, Virunga National Park was created in April 1925.

Virunga National Park.
Since gorillas live on five of the eight Virunga volcanoes that are close to Volcanoes National Park, it is the only national park in Rwanda that offers gorilla tracking. The gorillas are typically found on the lower slopes of the mountains, particularly in the bamboo plantations.

Because the gorillas in this area are constantly eating bamboo shoots, it is simple for tourists to follow them. The northwest of Rwanda is home to Volcanoes National Park, which is around 160 square kilometers in size. It was established in 1926 and is one of Dian Fossey's zoological study areas. The National Park is a renowned UNESCO World Heritage site because of its variety.

Biega-Kahuzi National Park.
The eastern lowland gorillas are found in Kahuzi-Biega National Park, another heavily wooded region in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This vast region spans 600,000 hectares and is home to highland forests, which provide a suitable environment for eastern lowland gorillas. People swarm the park to get a close-up look at the gentle giants, snap photos of them, and discover more about them.
The Congolese government created the National Park in 1970, and UNESCO listed it as a genuine World Heritage site.

South Sudan safaris and tours.
One of the African nations that is inextricably linked to tourism is South Sudan. South Sudan is situated in northern Uganda and stretches southeast to the Horn of Africa. Visitors may marvel at art at a number of South Sudanese tourist destinations.

These include, but are not limited to, the Bandingilio National Park, which provides exceptional opportunities to interact with wildlife species, particularly the Big Five. The White Nile is another must-see destination because most tourists travel to the Nile for thrilling water sports like whitewater rafting and boat cruises, to name a few. Additionally, visitors frequently find cultural interactions with the indigenous Dinka people to be fascinating.

Travelers typically visit the Konyo Market to gain an understanding of the local artifacts created by the Sudanese people. City tours are also conducted in Juba, and the Juba Nile Bridge is another artistic attraction that people frequently enjoy posing for photos and taking pictures of. Kidepo Game Reserve also offers activities like game drives in the National Park, which let visitors see animals like cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, leopards, and birds, particularly ostriches.

Safaris in Kenya.
One of the most fascinating places to visit in eastern Africa is Kenya. The nation is well known for its wild animal encounters in its frantic national parks and its breathtaking wildernesses. When visiting the nation's Masai Mara national reserve, tourists are thrilled to see the big wildebeest migration. This is accompanied by encounters with various wildlife species, particularly the big five—cheetahs, hyenas, and many cats, to mention a few.

The hot air balloon safari, which gives visitors the chance to see endowments from above, as well as a number of beach activities like beach soccer, parasailing, snorkeling, and diving, are just a few of the many activities Kenya offers visitors to ensure they have an experience they won't soon forget. Additionally, the boat cruises offered in the national parks leave guests wanting more.

Safaris in Tanzania.
Being the biggest nation in East Africa, Tanzania has a lot of wildness that has been gazetted into national parks throughout the years because of its distinctive characteristics and the wildlife that calls it home.

The renowned Serengeti National Park, which is notable because of the wildebeest migration safaris, is located in Tanzania. Tanzania also boasts a number of beaches along the Indian Ocean coast, particularly in Zanzibar, where tourists may engage in a variety of beach activities including exploring Stone Town, visiting Prison Island, where they can see giant tortoises, and more.
